Julio Meran – President & Executive Director
Julio Meran is the founder of Merrimack Valley Dream Center and serves as the President and Executive Director. He felt God call him into urban ministry within the Merrimack Valley to bring Hope and the Love of Jesus, to those that are dejected, hurting, isolated, oppressed, addicted and broken emotionally, spiritually, physically. He is currently pursuing a degree in Urban Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Julio is thrilled at how God is clearly at work in the community surrounding the Merrimack Valley Dream Center. Volunteers and those we serve are learning to depend on Jesus, many individuals throughout Lawrence are being transformed by God’s love, lives are literally being saved from destruction and despair through a message of hope in Jesus Christ. He firmly believes that the best is yet to come! Julio is passionate about his wife Natasha and 3 kids, people—leading them to follow Jesus and engage in God’s mission in their communities. Julio enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, hiking, camping, swimming, going to movies and eating out. He works as a Network Engineer at Barracuda Networks.
Jeff Cucuna – Vice President
Jeff has served in numerous church ministries and leadership roles for over 20 years. He helped lead the Merrimack Valley Dream Center (MVDC) Bridge Ministry, serving the homeless and disadvantaged, since its inception in 2013. He currently serves on the MVDC Board of Directors and is excited about the Dream Center’s vision to provide hope and restoration through the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus. He also serves as co-leader in the Celebrate Recovery program sponsored by the MVDC, where he has the privilege of encouraging others through the recovery process.
Jeff has a BS degree in Information Technology and certifications in programming and desktop publishing. He works in the telecommunications field where he has held various roles in the past 25 years: Technician, Engineer, Software developer, and currently as Program/Project Manager.
Jeff is richly blessed by his wife and two grown children. He also has the joy of serving in the music ministry at Granite United Church playing bass and drums.
Angie Estevez – Board Member
Angie has been intentional about working with/for organizations, programs and initiatives that help alleviate suffering to at-risk and marginalized populations. She has done this by providing direct services through the means of counseling, case management, therapeutic mentoring and family advocacy. As an experienced nonprofit administrator – she has helped organizations strengthen their programmatic, operational and organizational strategies in a variety of roles such as: executive director, development associate, operations manager and nonprofit consultant.
Angie has a keen interest in helping organizations, ministries and grassroots initiatives with sustainability and capacity building projects. She holds an Associate’s Degree from Northern Essex Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction Studies from City Vision College, she attended Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and has also obtained a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University.
Angie is currently serving as a Chaplain at a drop-in center and two hospitals in the North Shore, through an ACPE program. Angie lives in Haverhill with her husband Eric, her two children Eric, Jr. and Angeli, and their chug dog Noe. Angie enjoys meeting new people, exploring different cultures/ethnicities and spending time with her family. She also LOVES chai tea, SHOES, audiobooks and her “Manicure Ministry”. You should know that Angie HATES the winter and LOVES Florida, she also spends much more time than she would want to admit on social media.
Jeff Watson – Board Member
Jeff Watson has been in ministry since 2012,. Jeff is the former Outreach Pastor for Crossroads Community Church. Jeff felt God call him to the Streets to share the love of Jesus to the homeless, addicts, and the broken. In December 2012 Jeff planted the Crossroads Bridge Ministry in Fitchburg, Ma. Jeff then went to Lawrence to help Julio Meran of MVDC plant a bridge ministry for Granite United Church in Lawrence, Ma. Jeff and his wife planted a Celebrate Recovery Ministry in Fitchburg in 2011 and now Jeff and his wife Dina have planted another Celebrate Recovery at Liberty Church In Shrewsbury, Ma., where Jeff is currently the Celebrate Recovery Ministry Director. He is also a member of the Liberty Worship Team where he plays the drums and performs back up vocals. Jeff’s favorite ministry is his family with is beautiful wife Dina and his two sons Michael and Jeffrey.
Roselle Heckendorn – Board Member
Roselle Heckendorn currently serves as the minister of Prayer and Outreach at Free Christian Church in Andover. She also volunteers at the Women in Transition correctional facility in Salisbury MA, where she offers the Alpha program twice a week and believes God has given her a heart for people struggling with addiction. She is passionate about equipping the church for outreach and seeing the kingdom of God advanced in the Merrimack Valley.
Roselle has an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and has worked in marketing for several multinational companies, including Exxon Chemical and ICI. She also taught creative problem solving as part of an MBA course for the Open University and was a director of a non-profit restaurant in the UK. She is a trained spiritual director and meets with women to offer spiritual direction.
Roselle is originally from the UK but moved to the USA in 1996 and lives in Andover with her husband David. They have 3 adult children who are all currently living and working or studying on the West Coast. She speaks French fluently and has learned 6 other languages, but has not had much chance to practice these in recent years. She enjoys windsurfing in summer, cross country and downhill skiing in winter and plays tennis year-round – she also loves boards games, cryptic crossword puzzles and enjoys cooking and eating food from around the world.
